It reported the Dulles Town Center was completely closed in March 2020. It happened due to the increasing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. Later, In July 2020, The Mall opened several stores and restaurants again. At the same time, some of its operations remain closed.

Is Sears Dulles Town Center Closing?

Dulles Town Center is an enclosed shopping mall in Dulles, Virginia, across the country. It has clothing stores such as Macy’s, Sears, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, and many more. It has various other specialty stores and restaurants, including high-end food courts.

Again, due to the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Sears department store also closed at Dulles Town Center in late 2020. Sears is one of the few remaining anchors at Dulles Town Center.

According to reports including the state of Virginia, Sears operated over 700 stores in 1963. Later, the number of department stores decreased to 489 Sears Stores. 

In 2021, it again dwindled and was only left with 40 stores throughout the country, excluding Virginia.

Is Chick-fil-A at Dulles Town Center Closing?

Regarding an eatery at Dulles Town Center, Chick-fil-A always comes at the top. But this food court at Dulles Town Center closed permanently on 31 December 2022. 

When the food court staple announced its closure, at that time, the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post, “We would like to thank all of you for supporting us over the years. But now, the time has come to close this food court permanently on 12.31.2022. Again, Thank You! Thanks for supporting and participating in it over the past 20 years!” 

However, customers were up in arms and wanted to know why it was closed. However, the restaurant did not specify the reason for its closure.

At last, the restaurant wrote in the post, “It is true, we are closing this location. But we look forward to serving the community at different or nearby locations.”

What Is The Future Of Dulles Town Center?

However, Dulles Town Center closed its locations permanently in 2020 due to the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic. But it reopened in the same year with some of its stores. JBG Smith built Dulles Town Center. 

The project was expected to be finished in 2022 and is located in Loudoun County, Virginia, U.S.

The project was a 1.4 million square foot mixed-use development. It included retail space, offices, and residential hotels. When the project was taken over, The Dulles Town Center was managed by Centennial Advisory Services. Centennial is the largest mall owner in the United States. 

It had a portfolio of entertainment venues, shopping malls, and dining establishments in more than 40 states. Centennial has taken over the Dulles Town Center. 

Now, the Mall has been managed by the company besides accounting, leasing, and marketing services.

The best part of the Centennial is it transformed the shopping malls entirely. It redeveloped the Mall into reconfigured and defined spaces to meet consumer demands and ongoing trends.

It noted that The only Mall with more than 160 fine retailers and restaurants in Loudoun County is Dulles Super-regional Mall. 

Centennial declared that the shopping centers will be developed in a more environmentally friendly way. 

Moreover, the company acquired value-priced Margie’s women’s stores introduced in 1953. After the acquisition, it transformed the store into a company that operated more than 60 locations nationwide. 

Centennial planned to develop a future Dulles Town Center. It proposed that the Mall is likely to re-purpose several of its properties. It noted Dulles Town Center in the Washington area can be an ideal choice for customers and a wonderful location. 

It is a wonderful and ideal location for the Dulles Town Center. Because there is consecutive growth, besides, one can reimagine its future to appeal to the lifestyles of tomorrow’s shoppers. According to the company, redevelopment is only one solution that may work in such a complicated state.
